Highlights of the story

  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has overtaken its prequel in the peak concurrent player count on Steam with 67.8k players, despite experiencing framerate issues on PC.
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order reached a peak player count of 46.5k four years ago.

  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order reaches record player count 67,855 On Steam, just three days after release. As seen. Steam DB, the game surpassed its predecessor Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s best player count. The title’s release on PC was overshadowed by performance issues that unfortunately still persist, leading to early Steam reviews for Jedi Survivor to be “mostly negative”.

But despite the bugs and optimization issues, the action-adventure title is hitting big for a Star Wars game on Steam. Along with the player count, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor also has the second largest release on the platform for a Star Wars game. It is behind only Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga which had 82.5k players. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was released a year ago on April 5th.

The release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been marred by current performance issues, particularly on PC. EA was well aware of this and delayed the release for 6 weeks to get the game off them. But, as later pointed out by reviewers who quickly got their hands on the light saber-fueled action adventure, problems still existed. Most of the issues were specific to the PC version of Jedi: Survivor, as several reviewers have pointed out.

In other news, EA has announced “weeks” of patches for the game to address these issues just days before the title’s final release. The first patch was scheduled for launch day. So far, it looks like the patch hasn’t had the desired effect, at least not as much as EA had hoped. And the issues are still present in its PC release.

Nonetheless, the numbers on Steam are a testament to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s potential. This number is set to reach much higher, breaking the current number of peak players. Hopefully, future updates will fix the ongoing issues on the PC variant of the game.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
