I talk to a lot of people who think their computer is running out of storage space, when in fact they’re barely using half of it. Here you can check how much free space is left on your computer.
Windows 10/11
- Click on the small icon at the bottom left of the screen. The yellow folder. (Click if you don’t see it. Start And type. File Explorer)
- Click on the left side of the screen. This PC
- To the right, below Devices and drives You will see a drive label. local disk (c:)
Under Drive, you’ll see the drive’s capacity and how much free space it has.
If you want to see it in more detail.
- Right click. Drive
- Click Properties
You should now see a pie chart that gives you a nice colorful representation of your used/free space.
Windows 7
- Click on Get started. button at the bottom left
- Click on Computer.

- Right click. local disk (c:). Right click on it and left click. Properties
That’s it, you should now see a colorful pie chart showing you how much space you have left on your computer. is blue Space usedand is pink free space.
