Microsoft hasn’t been showing anything substantial in games showcases since last year’s E3, with modest Xbox announcements at both Gamescom and The Game Awards 2022. However, the company may be planning a new showcase event that will let fans know how some of its upcoming projects are shaping up.
As reported by Windows Central, the showcase will go by the name Xbox Developer_Direct, taking a page out of Nintendo’s playbook. With events like this, Microsoft is said to be considering increasing the frequency of information drops about its future projects without relying solely on big showcase times like E3 week.
Hosted by teams from both Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda, this developer direct will reportedly feature Turn 10 Studios. Forza Motorsport Reboot, Arcane Studios heading, of Mojang Minecraft Legendsas well as what ZeniMax Online Studios is building.
Unfortunately for fans of Bethesda Game Studios, Starfield According to sources, will not participate in this event. Microsoft is said to be planning a separate, major marketing push for the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG later in the year.
The Xbox Developer_Direct will air on Twitch and YouTube on January 25th at 12pm PT, the report states. Microsoft has yet to announce any such plans, but if an event is coming, confirmation should arrive soon.
