Elden Ring is a true masterpiece from FromSoftware. The game is an RPG that follows the spirit of Dark Souls and lets you follow different routes and builds, such as Elden Ring Arcane build. This build includes blood/bleed weapons that build up the blood loss of the enemies and make them explode. When they explode, it deals tons of damage to the enemies.

What Are Bleed Weapons In Elden Ring? 

In Elden Ring, Bleed is one of the many status effects. It tends to increase over time as you level up and kill enemies. However, the Bleed status of a weapon will only increase if the weapon is built for it. For instance, a weapon that gets buffed by a weapon that depends on the buildup of blood loss like Reduvia or Rivers of Blood Katana. 

When you hit an enemy with one of the best weapons infused with the bleed status effect in Elden Ring, the Blood Loss Meter will go up. After the meter is filled completely you will get to inflict a special attack on the enemy. It is called the Blood Loss Effect. Once it activates, you can deal Instant Hemorrhage Damage to your enemy. 

Furthermore, any damage you do using the Blood Loss Effect will depend on the maximum hit points of your enemy. However, it won’t accumulate over time like other status effects and it has no effect on your mobility or other abilities. 

How To Add Bleed To A Weapon  

If you want to infuse the Bleed Status Effect on some of the best weapons, you can use two methods. The first method of making the best bleed-infused weapon in Elden Ring is by using an Ash of War called The Blood Blade.  

Using the Ash Of War you can add the Bleed effect to some of the best swords in Elden Ring, even if you’re wielding dual weapons. Using the Blood Blade Ash Of War, any small or medium sword can get the Bleed Status Effect. Additionally, when you hit the Skill Button, you can inflict a ranged attack on your target. Eventually, their Blood Loss Meter will fill up and you can unleash a deadly attack. However, the skill consumes the HP of the user. 

The next method involves adding Bleed using Bleed Affinity. In order to do so, you need to locate the Black Whetblade at the Night’s Sacred Grounds found in the Nokron Region. Once you have obtained it, go to the Ashes Of War menu on any Site Of Lost Grace and select the weapon. Make sure to select your best weapon and select Bleed Affinity in Elden Ring. However, not all the Ashes of War might work with the Bleed effect.

Reduvia Dagger

Reduvia is one of the early blood weapons you can find in the game. This dagger is used by the servants of the Lord of Blood. So you can rest assured knowing that it is one of the Best Blood Weapons in Elden Ring. The dagger has a unique skill known as the Reduvia Blood Blade.

While using this skill, the tarnished transforms its ‘never-drying bloodstains into airborne blood blades’. This causes hemorrhaging to enemies. The unique skill of Reduvia can be fired in rapid succession. It is considered one of the best blood weapons in Elden Ring as it has a ranged attack that helps you keep a distance between yourself and the enemy. 

The slashes from Reduvia’s unique skill can stack up. In turn, they do good damage against enemies with long health bars. Although the Reduvia dagger doesn’t deal tons of bleed damage, it is one of the best starting blood weapons for bleed builds.

Location

The Reduvia dagger is located near the Murkwater Catacombs site of grace.

Once you get there, head to the south while going up the river. There, you’ll come across an invasion from Bloody Fingers Narijus.

Killing this enemy is quite easy. Once defeated, they’ll drop Reduvia.

Stats

The dagger Reduvia in Elden Ring scales with Arcane, Dexterity, and Strength. The dagger has 79 physical damage with 110 crit. But that’s not what we’re after in this list of Elden Ring Best Blood Weapons. The dagger causes 50 blood loss on every strike and considering its fast speed, it won’t be long before doing a bleed effect here and there.

To wield the dagger, you’ll need to have 5 Strength, 13 Dexterity, and 13 Arcane. All these stats are early game stats. You can get the dagger early in the game and get started with rampaging against enemies.

Uchigatana

Uchigatana is one of the fantastic weapons when it comes to the blood weapons in Elden Ring. If you have planned on following the Bleed build from the start, then you should get the Uchigatana. This deadly katana is available from the start of the game. All you have to do is start as a Samurai in the Elden Ring.

With that, you’ll get to inflict bleed damage on earlier enemies. But if you want to take things to the next level, you can always get the second Uchigatana Blade in the Elden Ring, more on that in a while.

The Uchigatana has a good range and it is a fast blade. Due to this, the Bleed builds up quickly using this blade. If you pair it up with bleed Ash of War, the bleed effect will amplify and you’ll be dealing tons of bleed damage in mere seconds.

Location

The Uchigatana location in Elden Ring is in the Deathtouched Catacombs in Limgrave.

You can get this katana without defeating the boss in the Catacombs. When heading inside, turn left from the main entrance, and after following the route, you can loot the blade from a dead body.

Stats

The Uchigatana scales with Strength and Dexterity. And to wield it, you’ll need to have 11 Strength and 15 Dexterity. Of course, you won’t need to level up your character if you’ve started as a Samurai in Elden Ring.

The blade causes a Blood loss buildup of 45, and it’s a great early game weapon. Even if you ignore the blood build-up, the blade has 115 physical damage with 100 crit.

Rivers of Blood Katana

The Rivers of Blood Katana doesn’t need any introduction in the Elden Ring. It is one of the famous Blood Weapons in the Elden Ring and the best one by far. So whether you are going for a PVP or a PVE Fight, the Rivers of Blood Katana will help you achieve victory in no time.

The Rivers of Blood Katana uses the stellar move-set of Katana, and combines it with the range and bleed build-up of the blade. The weapon is available in the late game. And the wait to get it in the late game is worth it.

The special ability, corpse piler, of the Rivers of Blade katana is the main damage dealer. Once successfully done, you won’t only deal tons of damage from the combo, but the bleed build-up effect will be almost done. And a few more hits, your bleed effect will be complete and will take out a chunk of health from the enemies, whether it’s a PVP or PVE.

Location

To get to the Rivers of Blood katana’s location in Elden Ring, you’ll have to travel to the Mountain Top of the Giants. On the southern side of the map, you’ll find the Rivers of Blood katana near the Church of Repose.

It will be dropped by Bloody Finger Okina that attacks you.

But mind you, before you hunt for the Katana, make sure that you haven’t defeated the Fire Giant. If you have defeated the Fire Giant, then you won’t get this katana as a drop.

Stats

The katana scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Arcane. It requires 12 strength, 18 dexterity, and 20 Arcane for you to wield the Katana.

The blade has a low physical attack. But the blade deals a whopping 50 Blood loss build-up that can take out chunks of health from bosses and PVP enemies.

Ghiza’s Wheel

Ghiza’s Wheel is a Colossal Weapon in the Elden Ring. The basic attacks of the Ghiza’s Wheel act as any hammer. But the Weapon Art that is literally named ‘Spinning Wheel’ is what makes it special. 

When used, the Wheel-blade on top of the weapon spins like a chainsaw. The tarnished can walk forward to the enemies, causing them staggering damage. The Ghiza’s Wheel has a high damage potential. But that’s not all, when the blood loss build-up bar fills up, it does bleed damage to the enemies. With each hit, the blade causes a blood loss build-up of 70.

With this weapon, you don’t have to plan your next attack as once the blade starts rotating, there’s no stopping it. It will stagger the enemies and they won’t be able to attack you unless you run out of stamina. If you have enough stamina, you can cause blood loss effects on enemies over and over again.

Location

The Ghiza’s Wheel is located at the Volcano Manor.

It is located above the stairs leading to Lady Tanith. There, you’ll have to defeat an invader that is using the Ghiza’s Wheel.

Stats

This Colossal Weapon has a D scaling with Strength and D scaling with Dexterity. And in order to wield it against enemies, you’ll need to have 28 Strength and 18 Dexterity.

The basic attacks of the weapon are good enough even if you take blood loss out of the equation. The blade falls behind as it is a heavy weapon. When using its Weapon Art, tarnished will move slowly. So you’ll have to get closer to enemies to use the Weapon Art.

Eleanora’s Poleblade

Eleanora’s Poleblade has an edge over other weapons as it is a twin-blade. With that, it can bleed way faster than most of the weapons on our list. If you want a strategy on how to use it, that’s simple, equip it in both hands and spam sprint attacks. It will make everything in front of you explode either with raw damage or with blood loss effect.

If you’re not satisfied with the sprint attack’s spam, then Weapon Art ‘bloodblade Dance’ will surely amaze you. With this, the Tarnished jumps forward while swinging the Poleblade. This Weapon Art fills the Bleed meter staggeringly fast. If you’re facing multiple enemies, then this Weapon Art will definitely help you deal with them.

Location

This Blood Weapon in Elden Ring is acquired during Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s questline. In this, you’ll have to travel to the Second Church of Marika and defeat Eleanora, Violet Bloody Finger.

When defeated, Eleanora will drop Eleanora’s Poleblade with other items.

Stats

Eleanora’s Poleblade’s Weapon Art will keep you away from danger due to its long-range. The blade deals 72 attack and 100 crit. But it does a whopping 56 blood loss build-up. That’s why it has managed to get in our Best Blood Weapons in Elden Ring guide.

As for the scaling, it primarily scales with Dexterity and Arcane. With strength, it gets secondary scaling. And to equip the blade, you’ll need to have 12 strength, 21 Dexterity, and 19 Arcane.

Sword of Milos

The Sword of Milos isn’t an overpowered Blood Weapon in the Elden Ring. It doesn’t deal high Bleed damage to enemies, nor is it a fast weapon. And the 55 bleed effect of the blade can’t be buffed. But still, it is a great weapon that we can’t ignore in the list of Best Blood Weapons in Elden Ring, we’ll get on it in a while.

What’s good about this weapon is that with it, you won’t have to rely on blood loss build-up. As all enemies in the Elden Ring aren’t susceptible to blood loss build-up. But the blade itself is effective at killing everything thanks to the Shriek of Milos Weapon Art of the blade.

With Shriek of Milos, the Tarnished lets out a scream. This scream debuffs the enemies within a large AOE. It reduces the damage negation of the enemies. This in turn makes the damage that Sword of Milos deals devastating. The Shriek of Milos is considered a Warcry, so the Attack stats of the Sword of Milos are increased. And what happens when you combine the increased damage with reduced damage negation, we leave that to your imagination.

But that’s not all that you get with the Sword of Milos. There’s one more benefit that you get while using Sword of Milos. For every kill you perform with this weapon, it restores your FP. You can’t underestimate this in PVE. The FP restoration is so good that you might even forget to use the Cerulean Flasks.

Location

The Sword of Milos can be obtained in the Dung Eater’s Questline.

You’ll notice that Dung Eater uses this sword, so in order to obtain it, you’ll have to kill Dung Eater.

If you don’t want to kill Dung Eater, you can simply complete the quest, and Dung Eater will be available as the spirit summon to help you in fights.

Stats

The Sword of Milos, as we mentioned earlier, has a low blood loss build-up. It doesn’t even scale with arcane. The Sword of Milos scales primarily with Dexterity and secondarily with Strength. Whereas it needs 15 strength and 19 dexterity to wield the blade.

The Shriek of Milos costs 30 FP. That’s where recovering FP on kill comes in handy. Overall, this sword isn’t the best Bleed Weapon in the Elden Ring. But if you consider other factors, it’s a useful sword in PVE combat.

Cross-Naginata

Cross-Naginata is one of the best spears found in the Elden Ring. The Cross-Naginata is a katana on the end of a spear. As it is a spear, it has a long reach. With that, the move-set that Cross-Naginata has is quite fantastic. Its attacks are wide-reaching and fast to execute. Thanks to the long range of the blade, it provides superb crowd control.

But when it comes to Blood loss build-up, the Cross-Naginata falls behind in the list of best Blood Weapons in Elden Ring. It only deals a 50 bleed damage and doesn’t scale with arcane to increase this low blood loss build-up. For that, we recommend using Seppuku Ashes of War. Once applied, you can perform crouch attacks, sprint attacks, and all sorts of attacks. Thanks to its long-range, you can apply bleed effects rather easily.

The spears in Elden Ring have stagger built-in. Use it to your benefit and ensure that you strike a few bleed effects so that they die quickly. Oh, one more thing, this weapon is perfect for both PVE and PVP.

Location

To find the Cross-Naginata, you’ll have to travel to the Gael Tunnel in Caelid. Get inside and you’ll have to deal with a few knights guarding it.

Now jump down carefully, And interact with the lost site of grace. There, you’ll have to go through a few tunnels until you come into a cavern with water dripping from the walls and roof. If you look to your left you’ll find an item. That item is the Cross-Naginata. But before you can get to it, you’ll be attacked by a land octopus. We recommend that you run past it as dealing with it will be hard.

Stats

The Cross-Naginata, as we’ve mentioned before, has a low blood loss effect. But still, it has managed to be on our list of Best Blood Weapons in Elden Ring and that is thanks to its utility in fights. It is a fast weapon.

It scales with Strength and Dexterity. So, to wield the spear, you’ll need to have at least 16 Strength and 20 Dexterity. Overall, it is a good Bleed Weapon in the Elden Ring.

Bloody Helice

How can we forget the Bloody Helice? It is a heavy weapon that has the ability to rapidly poke enemies while dealing high damage to them. The Bloody Helice is equipped with a decent blood loss Build-up. But its strength doesn’t lie in the blood loss ability, but in its move-set. The hemorrhaging ability is pretty decent, but as we’ve mentioned earlier, it’s not something that you can rely on in a boss fight.

The Dynast’s Finesse, Bloody Helice’s Weapon Art, is a superb ability. While using it, the Tarnished will go back a bit and then perform a powerful thrust on the enemies. You can use it as an escape skill to reposition yourself too. A good thing about this Weapon Art is that it builds the bleed quickly compared to normal stabs.

If you use the heavy attack while under Warcry effects, the properties of the attack change, and instead of a single poke, it will become a multi-hitting charge attack. This is really good as you’ll be able to deal massive damage to some of the weaker bosses. The more you hit them, the more bleed meter you’ll be filling. If the bleed meter fills up, the enemies will explode and it will take massive chunks of health from them.

Location

The location of the Bloody Helice is in the Altus Plateau. There, you get the Bloody Helice by defeating a boss in the underground portion of the church. There will be some guards guarding the area, going past them and going down the stairs. You’ll find a boss fight’s mist door. Defeat the boss and the Bloody Helice will be found behind him in a chest inside a room.

Stats

The Bloody Helice is an amazing weapon in the Elden Ring. This powerful weapon scales with Dexterity and Arcane. After that, to scale it, you’ll need to have higher strength. The requirements to equip this weapon are 16 Strength, 19 Dexterity, and 17 Arcane.

The Bloody Helice has a good Blood loss build-up. But if you scale your Arcane, it gets even better. At one point, you won’t even realize but your bleed effect will be quite frequent.

Bloodhound’s Fang

The Bloodhound’s Fang is an incredible weapon in Elden RIng. and without doubt, it is one of the most powerful Blood Weapons in Elden Ring. The BloodHound’s Fang is a Curved Greatsword that deals damage through slashes. The blade itself, even though it is a greatsword, deals massive amounts of damage in 1 hit. And to top that off, we have the blood loss build-up on this blade.

The blood loss on Bloodhound’s Fang is 55. That isn’t the highest in the game, but it is enough if you want to take chunks of health out of bosses in the game. This Bleed Weapon in Elden Ring is powerful enough to 1-shot most of the enemies. With the long range of the weapon, you’ll be able to keep a distance and still inflict damage upon them.

The Weapon Art known as Bloodhound’s Finesse is the specialty of the blade. When using this, the Tarnished performs an aerial slice that is powerful enough to stagger even bosses. You can use it as a retreating attack too as the Tarnished jumps back while performing it.

Location

To get to the Bloodhound’s Fang, you’ll have to travel to a specific location called Forlorn Hound Evergaol. That place is a teleporter that teleports you to a location to the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil.

As it is in Limgrave, you can get to this place even at the beginning. But we’ll recommend that you don’t start the fight unless you’re at least level 20. That way, you’ll be better prepared to fight the Bloodhound Knight.

Stats

The Bloodhound’s Fang is a Curved Greatsword. It scales with Dexterity and then with Strength. So in order to wield it to its fullest, you’ll have to focus on Dexterity. When it comes to equipping this beast of a weapon, you’ll have to have 18 Strength and 17 Dexterity.

The Blood loss build-up on this weapon is a fixed amount of 55. You can’t scale it with anything. But when you combine it with Bloodhound’s Finesse, you’ll be able to deal bleed damage quicker.

Hookclaws

Hookclaws are another unique weapon in the list of Bleed WEapons in Elden Ring. one thing that I love about these claws is that if you equip them in both hands it feels as if you’re the Wolverine. Both claws look cool on the Tarnished.

Anyways, the Hookclaws are a light weapon in the Elden Ring. They can inflict beefy damage if you’ve performed their combos right. And as the Hookclaws are light weapons, they have a fast attacking pattern. This comes in quite handy when you’re aiming for a blood loss build-up on the enemies.

If you perform jump attacks it’ll feel as if you’re the Wolverine, like when he performs his signature jump attack with his claws. But that’s not all that’s special about the Hookclaws. You can add any Ash of War on these claws and the damage or special effects will surely enhance.

Location

Hookclaws are an early weapon in the Elden Ring, and due to that, they’ve made it into our best blood weapons list. You’ll find these after you’ve defeated Margit the Fell omen.

Stats

The Hookclaws is an interesting weapon in Elden Ring. using this weapon gives off the vibes as if you’re the Wolverine from X-Men.

Enough about that, the Hookclaws scale with Dexterity and with Strength. As they’re a fairly early-game weapon, the attributes requirements aren’t that high. To wield these claws, you’ll need to have 8 Strength and 14 Dexterity. And that’s it, you’re ready to deal with 60 blood loss build-ups upon each attack.

Morgott’s Cursed Sword

Morgott’s Cursed Sword is another Greatsword in our list of Best Blood Weapons in the Elden Ring. with the Patch 1.04 update, the weapon has completely changed. What once was a normal weapon has now turned into a monster. It will definitely make your enemies run for their life in PVP when you’ve finished your combo. The weapon’s animations have become faster.

In the special attack of Morgott’s Cursed Sword, the Tarnished ‘charges forward to deliver a downward diagonal slice’. This is a powerful charge that can take chunks of health out of the enemies. The trail in which the cursed sword is used will burst into flames.

This Weapon Art makes it special as it will deal 2 different damages at once. The First will be the slice of the Cursed Sword, and the second will be the explosive damage. This skill will surely take out chunks of health from both PVE and PVP.

When it comes to the list of Bleed Weapons in Elden Ring, Morgott’s Cursed Sword is a remarkable weapon. Thanks to its scaling in Arcane, the weapon’s blood loss build-up increases with each level of Arcane.

Location

You get Morgott’s Cursed Sword by killing Morgott, the Omen King. Morgott can be found in Leyndell, Royal Capital. We suggest that you prepare yourself as Morgott is a strong boss. 

You’ll have to defeat Morgott, The Omen King, and then take his Remembrance to Enia at the Roundtable Hold and then exchange it for his Cursed Sword.

Stats

Morgott is one of the strongest bosses in the Elden Ring. And it is justifiable that Morgott has one of the best weapons in the game. This weapon happens to be on our list of Blood Weapons.

Morgott’s Cursed Sword scales with Dexterity and Arcane. Furthermore, it has a low scaling with Strength. So you’ll have to focus on your Dexterity in order to properly scale the Cursed Sword. To wield it, you’ll need to have at least 14 Strength, 35 Dexterity, and 17 Arcane.

The Blood loss build-up with each of the attacks is 60. It increases with the help of Arcane. If you want to use the high damage of the weapon, then increase your Dexterity. But if you want to make it a Bleed Weapon, then focus on Arcane.

Godskin Peeler

Another Twinblade on our list that is as exciting as the last one is the Godskin Peeler. This twin blade has the same move set as any other twinblade. You can use it to slash enemies or poke at them. Furthermore, the power stance can deal massive amounts of damage.

When it comes to the Blood loss build-up, the Godskin peeler fails at that. The Twinblades fail to provide any source of the Bleed effect. It might seem as if these twin blades have no place in our list of Blood Weapons in the Elden Ring. That’s where the Seppuku Ash of War comes in. If you can’t seem to kill Eleanora for her Poleblade (another Twinblade with blood loss build-up), then The Godskin Peeler is perfect for you. We’ll get to the location of the Godskin Peeler in a while.

If you equip double Godskin Peelers, then you can cheese almost all of the bosses with Seppuku Ash of War. When you perform the jump attack, using double Godskin Peelers will take chunks of health from the bosses. But even if you use one of these twin blades, the Weapon Art, Black Flame Tornado will come in handy.

Location

To find the Godskin Peeler, you’ll have to travel to the Windmill Village. The village is located in the Altus Plateau. There, you’ll have to climb up the hill and you’ll come across the Godskin Apostle.

The Godskin Apostle has an easy move-set. It won’t take long for you to plan your attacks. Once the Godskin Apostle at Windmill Village is defeated, you’ll get the Godskin Peeler as a drop.

Stats

The Godskin Peeler itself doesn’t have any blood loss build-up, so you’ll have to rely on Seppuku Ash of War for that. Otherwise, this is a powerful weapon that you should get early on. The Godskin Peeler scales with Dexterity and then with Strength. To equip it, you’ll need to have 17 Strength and 22 dexterity.

Moonveil Katana

In the list of blood weapons in the Elden Ring, how can we miss the Moonveil katana? The katana has beautiful Weapon Art. We’ll get to that in a while. Moonveil Katana, like any other katana, is a fast weapon that can attack many times before the enemies get to react to it. It deals with a 50 blood loss build-up on every attack.

When it comes to the Weapon Art, known as the Transient Moonlight, the Katana amazes everyone. While using this, Tarnished comes in a stance and then with a light attack, performs a horizontal slash. Whereas with a heavy attack, it performs a vertical attack. With each Ash of War attack, it will let out blue light to follow the trail.

Location

The Moonveil Katana is located in a hidden cave located on the right side of Caelid. The cave is called the Gael Tunnel.

While getting the Moonveil Katana, you’ll have to fight a Magma Wyrm, a mini-boss.

Stats

Moonveil Katana is a mage’s weapon as it scales primarily with Intelligence. Furthermore, it scales with Dexterity and then with Strength. Still, this weapon is for all as it can deal a good amount of damage to physical attackers too. You’ll need to have 23 Intelligence, 18 Dexterity, and 12 Strength in order to wield the Katana.

As we’ve mentioned before, it is a mage’s weapon. Mages’ built-in Elden Ring primarily uses this as a close-range combat weapon. But its blood loss build-up makes it an interesting weapon when it comes to the Best Blood Weapons in Elden Ring.

Hoslow’s Petal Whip

Elden Ring has a variety of weapons types that you can use. One such weapon type is the Whip. These whips can be brutal to enemies, and even you if used by the enemy. That is thanks to their fast strikes, amazing range, and as is the case with Hoslow’s Petal Whip, the ability of blood loss build-up. Getting the Thorned Whip as a drop is a rare chance so you’ll have to kill it several times before you can get your hands on Thonred Whip. So good luck!

The Thorned Whip scales primarily with Dexterity and secondarily with Strength. To wield the Whip, you’ll need to have at least 16 Dexterity and 8 Strength. This isn’t a high requirement as by the time you’ll get there, you’ll have Strength and Dexterity at higher levels than this.

The Whip has a rather low physical attack unless you level it up. And it causes 50 blood loss build-up on every attack. But that’s all you’ll get as it does not scale with arcane.
