For Honor Tier List: Ranking All Heroes [2023]

For Honor is a game that lets you choose from a wide range of different characters. At the time of writing, there exist a total of 28 different characters called heroes. As the number of heroes like Risk of Rain 2 Survivors is high, players often get confused with which one to choose. If you don’t choose the right hero, then no matter how much your practice or how skilled you are, you won’t be able to make any serious progress. Therefore today, we are going to write down an updated For Honor Tier List that will include the best heroes.

For Honor Tier List 

Keep in mind that the following list is based on personal preference, and you might find some heroes not belonging to a particular tier. We will include five heroes in each tier, while the weakest three will go in the last tier. Here is the summary table.

S-Tier Heroes 

Nobushi

Nobushi is an absolute beast when it comes to combat. The thing that makes him an S-Tier hero is that he can take down his opponents while keeping a reasonable distance. This is all thanks to the Naginata, a long weapon that can slice through even the toughest of things. In addition to this, Nobushi can launch bleeding attacks that do additional damage to bleeding targets. If you’re looking for a hero that can clear crowds quickly, then Nobushi is a perfect choice.

Conqueror

Carrying around a Footman’s Flail & Heater Shield, Conqueror can help you turn the tables. This warrior is super strong and capable of blocking almost any attack (all thanks to his shield, of course). The best part is that whenever an enemy player lands a hit on the shield, they are pushed back. As for his Footman’s Fail, this weapon can do a lot of damage when used right. In other words, Conqueror is perfect for both aggressive and defensive purposes.

Warmonger

Warmonger is always determined to take down his opponent as quickly as possible. For this purpose, he uses an ability called Corruption. This ability is perfect against isolated units and can prove to be useful against groups as well. In addition to this, it uses Claw and Light Attacks to neutralise its target. Warmonger uses a weapon called Flamberge Sword, which is a two-handed sword. The best part about using this hero is that you won’t have to spend a lot of time learning its abilities as they are simple yet amazing.

Gryphon

Gryphon is yet another amazing hero in our S-Tier category. This hero is regarded as a beast by many as he can take down even the toughest of opponents. He carries around a weapon called Bardiche, which is a polearm with a long blade attached to it. The thing which makes Gryphon an S-Tier hero is his quick attacks. Not only are they unpredictable, but they also take away the luxury from enemies of launching a counter-attack.

Jiang Jun

The final S-Tier hero we’d like to mention is Jiang Jun, a powerful fighter known for performing well in group fights. He carries around a Guandao as his primary weapon and has a notable stance to dodge incoming attacks quickly and easily. In addition to this, Jiang Jun can launch wide-sweeping Heavy Attacks that deal a lot of damage. Some people often think that this hero is slow compared to other heroes available in the game, but this is just because of his personality. In fact, in the entire game, he is one of the few who can survive a group fight without taking a lot of damage.

A-Tier Heroes

Medjay 

He uses a bifurcated Fan Axe to deal damage to his enemies in battle. Known as the Palm Axe originally, the Fan Axe was a single powerful weapon. With modification, we see it being split into two axes. Medjay can mystify his opponents. With the right strategies, Medjay can survive longer in battles.

Shaolin

First up, we have Shaolin. In combat, this hero is quick as his attacks are fast and unpredictable. He carries around as a long Staff that allows him to attack his enemies from a safe distance. In addition to this, he is one of the few heroes in the game who possess the ability to teleport. Now we all know how useful, such abilities are in a game like For Honor, don’t we? Other than that, thanks to one of his abilities, his health regenerates whenever he blocks an attack.

Warlord

Warlord is yet another hero who is capable of handling multiple situations without relying on his team. He is excellent in combat, and his defensive stance allows him to counter enemy attacks without any problem. Although the range of his attacks is not that much, he can still take down even the toughest of opponents. The best part about him is that the animations for his attacks are short.

Nuxia

Nuxia is a deadly assassin who stops at nothing until her opponent is finished. She can launch multiple attacks towards her enemy at once to push them into a corner. In addition to this, she can lay down traps that will deal damage to those performing a Block, Superior Block, Deflect, or Parry in the direction of the trap. In other words, if the enemy players are acting too defensive, then the trap will target them. As for her primary weapon, Nuxia carries around a pair of Hookswords.

Black Prior

Black Prior is one of those heroes who don’t rely on anyone else. In other words, they can handle multiple enemies at once and hold their position firmly. The thing which makes him an A-Tier character is Bulwark Counter. This is a defensive move that allows him to destroy the shields of his opponents. As he carries around a sheild himself, Black Prior is capable of blocking almost every attack that you throw at him.

Hitokiri

Hitokiri is a former executioner of the Samurais who has no mercy in his heart. This means that he is a killing machine who becomes ruthless in combat. He carries around a battle axe called the Masakari, a weapon he once used to deliver final blows in the executions. His abilities allow him to perform multiple special moves which deal a lot of damage. In addition to this, Hitokiri is regarded as one of the best characters for a 1 vs 1 situation.

B-Tier Heroes

Raider

Raider is a warrior who uses a Dane axe to attack his enemies. He can handle multiple situations, whether it’s launching an attack on the enemy or defending a position from them. What makes him one of the best heroes to use in For Honor is that his playstyle is simple yet effective. This means that players who are new to the game won’t have any trouble playing with him. And at the same time, they will be mastering a powerful warrior.

Berserker

If you’re looking for a hero that is perfect for close-combat situations, then Berserker is the one you should go with. He is one of the few heroes who can put pressure on his enemies, thanks to his infinite chain attacks. His abilities even allow him to increase his speed, attack, and defence stack, thus transforming him into an even mighty warrior. Although you might have to spend some time learning his playstyle, you won’t regret the decision. Berserker was once even considered as an A-Tier hero but he lost this position after the developers nerfed one of his heavy attacks.

Shugoki

At first, you might think of Shugoki as a slow hero who is just not worth picking up. This is mainly because of his huge appearance. But what some of you don’t know is that Shugoki is one of the most powerful characters in the entire game, capable of performing heavy attacks that are unblockable when fully charged. One of his attacks involves pinning a target and then throwing them behind.

Kensei

Kensei is regarded as one of those heroes who are always ready for an ambush. He carries around a katana called the Nodachi which he uses to deliver devasting attacks. The only downside about Kensei is that he’s slow. However, considering his katana gives him a long melee range, this won’t affect you that much. In addition to this, one of his abilities allows him to increase the speed of his allies. Furthermore, they also start dealing more damage. Both of these things are ideal for an ambush.

Highlander

The final hero we’d like to mention in our B-Tier category is Highlander. For those who don’t know, he uses the heaviest and the longest sword in the entire game called the Claymore. His strength is unrivaled and can give his opponents a tough time. While Highlander is not that good in offensive terms, his defensive form is amazing. He can dodge multiple attacks and can push his enemy into a corner.

C-Tier Heroes

Jormungandr

Jourmungdr uses a War Hammer as his primary weapon through which he can perform decent attacks. However, on the offensive side, he is not that great. The only thing which makes him worth using is his defensive side. He offers health, shield, and damage reduction buffs, and all of these help him survive longer on the battlefield. Therefore, if you want someone to help your team for a longer time, you should pick him.

Tiandi

Just like Jormungandr, Tiandi also offers abilities that let him survive longer on the battlefield. He provides extra lives and shields, making him perfect for those who always want to play safely. He can also dodge attacks in a variety of ways. Furthermore, he can disturb his enemies and make them unbalanced so that his allies can land lethal blows on them.

Warden

Warden possesses both offensive and defensive capabilities, something that makes him a good choice for starting players. His playstyle isn’t that difficult to learn, and you’ll get used to his abilities in no time. As for his primary weapon, Warden uses a huge Longsword. While this sword allows him to perform heavy attacks that deal huge damage, they are slow. This is why you should always combine his light attacks with heavy ones. Otherwise, your enemy will finish you off before you can even launch an attack.

Gladiator

Next up, we have Gladiator. The thing which makes Gladiator a decent hero is his unblockable attacks. They can help you with putting pressure on your opponent in a 1 vs 1 fight. He uses a Trident as his primary weapon, allowing him to attack enemies from a safe distance. Furthermore, he also carries around a buckler, which acts as a small shield. This bucker can also be used to bash opponents, which ends up reducing their stamina.

Zhanhu

The final hero in our C-Tier category is Zhanhu. Since Zhanhu was once considered as the right hand of some powerful rulers, he knows how to survive in combat. He uses a sword called Changdao that helps him deliver multiple light attacks at once. Furthermore, Zhanhu is also considered an expert in doging attacks, something that allows him to survive longer.

D-Tier Heroes

Orochi

Orochi is considered one of the most mobile heroes in the entire game. This is mainly because of his speed. He can move from one point to another in an instant and can jump over his enemies as well. In addition to this, his strikes are really fast and his opponents don’t even get the time to think about a counterattack because of this. Orochi is also capable of deflecting an incoming attack while launching a counterattack in the process.

Centurion

Centurion is a hero that knows how to properly defend himself. His punches and heavy attacks deal more damage when they are fully charged, and all of his moves are quick. The only downside about Centurion is that his range is extremely short. This means that he always needs to stay close to his enemy. However, his moves can still help you build pressure on your opponent.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie is yet another hero capable of handling both offensive and defensive situations. She uses a Spear to attack her enemies, while her Shield protects her from incoming attacks. Overall, Valkyrie is a good hero but her damage output is not that great.

Shaman

Shaman is a hero who likes to stay on the move. She stabs and slashes her enemies using the Dagger and Hatchet she carries around as her weapons. If the opponent is bleeding, then her attacks start dealing more damage. Furthermore, one of her abilities increases her movement speed, something that makes her even more deadly.

Lawbringer

Our final D-Tier hero in our For Honor Tier List is Lawbringer. Thanks to his weapon called Poleaxe, Lawbringer can keep a safe distance from his enemies. The hero is capable of launching heavy attacks that can stun enemies and deal a good amount of damage. However, while his attacks are powerful, they are slow. In addition to this, Lawbringer tends to perform better in solo fights rather than team fights.

E-Tier Heroes

Before we proceed with E-Tier heroes in our For Honor Tier List, we’d like to mention that these are the worst heroes available in the game. Compared to the heroes mentioned above, these ones don’t offer any unique skills and are not able to handle critical situations. Therefore, there isn’t any reason why you should pick them.

Peacekeeper

Peacekeeper is one of the weakest heroes mentioned in our For Honor Tier List. Although she is fast and can perform a variety of moves, she ends up becoming a burden on her team. This is because she can not defend herself properly and can get eliminated quickly. There isn’t anything that makes her special or unique, so it would be best to just avoid picking her.

Aramusha

Aramusha is a hero who is designed for both offensive and defensive situations. But compared to the other heroes we mentioned in this post, his skills are poor. Although his attacks are strong, his animations are slow. This is something that will make you lose your interest in him within the first few minutes. Still, there can be times when he can turn the situation in your team’s favor. But the chances for that to happen are low.

Shinobi

Finally, we have Shinobi. He was once considered as one of the top heroes in the game but a nerf from the developers took this position away from him. Now, he’s a hero who offers low health and is unable to perform defensive counters. In addition to this, Shinobi is able to do ranged attacks but they don’t do a lot of damage. In other words, they are useless.

Best 1V1 Duel Heroes In For Honor 

The heroes in our tier list have been ranked according to their overall ability and performance in the game. Some might do better in specific game modes than others. If you are looking for some of the best heroes in our For Honor 2023 tier list to play Duel, then we have mentioned below some heroes to get you through the Duel matches of the game. 

Shinobi 

A very rough class to play If you’re just starting out with For Honor. However, their move set is like no other and is full of surprises. While you might think that they have pretty impractical most when it comes to the Duel scenario, it is actually quite the opposite case.

The deadly moves and attacks can help them defeat any high-tier enemy in a matter of seconds. Also, the combos if executed in the right way can deal some solid damage to enemies.

Furthermore, they have high mobility and their unpredictable changeups and attacks make them an enemy’s worst nightmare. Shinobis have a solid blocking game so you won’t have to worry about taking damage while executing deadly attacks. 

Berserker 

The move set and attacks of berserker are a lot like Shinobi however they possess different styles. Brutal attacks and highly damaging change-ups are the signatures of Berserker. Furthermore, they have a lot of unblockable attacks and defensive moves that can be quite hard to break.

They look for a small opening and when they find one, it is only a matter of seconds before they take down their enemy. If you let them activate their trait it is game over for you. Also, their hand axe attacks can come from any direction so it will be hard tracking them down and dodge a single attack. 

Conqueror 

Undoubtedly one of the best classes in our tier list for the deadly Duels in For Honor is Conqueror. Conqueror performs fairly better in tournaments and they use a combination of defensive and offensive moves against their opponent to block their flow.

Furthermore, they have highly damaging character attacks and a set of tactics that set them apart. The Conqueror class is all about patience, timing, strategy, and positioning. Being passive combatants, they can take down some of the highest-tier heroes in no time. 

Warden 

Wardens are known for their deadly attacks and amazing combos. they can be very difficult to play against that is why many people go with them as their class choice. They have very easy-to-master moves and almost every new player in For Honor starts with Warden.

Even with some weaknesses, they can be quite fruitful in the end game if you manage to master their attacks. They are somewhat similar to Shinobi and have excellent abilities.
