Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall franchise is one of the most beloved FPS franchises. The games have gained a cult following over the years, with the last entry in the franchise releasing in 2016. The creator of the games says that he would like to make a new entry in the franchise.

Vince Zampella, CEO of Response Entertainment Spoke with Barrons About the future of the Titanfall franchise. When asked about the future of the Titanfall franchise, Zampella replied,

We are not currently working on anything. I hate to say yes, then people get hung up on it, and then skewer you when it doesn’t come. But I’d love to see if that’s the real answer. There are no definite dedicated plans for this. It must be the right thing. It is a favorite franchise for the fans and for us too. If it’s not the right moment in time, the right idea, it doesn’t mean anything.”

Respawn is busy, and a new Titanfall game isn’t likely to start development anytime soon. Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, developed by Respawn, releases this Friday. The company is also busy working on 2 more Star Wars games, including a potential sequel to Jedi Survivor, Star Wars: Jedi Trilogy. Respawn on Apex Legends Leave all the tasks alone.

While Titanfall 3 may not be released anytime soon, Titanfall 2 has aged perfectly and is still the go-to FPS for many fans of the genre. earlier this year, It was reported that Respawn had canceled a single-player Apex Legends game that would have featured characters from the Titanfall games, such as Zack Cooper and the beloved BT-7274.

A new Titanfall game do not have It’s in development and probably won’t be for some time. A modern AAA game has a development cycle that lasts years, if not decades. If Titanfall 3 were to start development today, we probably wouldn’t be able to play it until 2028 or so. But every studio’s timeline is different, Titanfall 3 won’t be in the near future.

Currently, Respawn is developing a Star Wars FPS inspired by the Jedi Knight series, a possible sequel to Jedi Survivor, new Apex Legends content, and a Star Wars strategy game with Bitr Reactor. The studio is busy and is unlikely to fit a new Titanfall game into its development cycle if a new Titanfall game is even approved.

The decision to abandon a third Titanfall game is likely due to Poor sales of the series, often attributed to being released close to other major releases. Titanfall 2 was released sandwiched between Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefront 1, another game published by EA and developed by sister studio DICE. Although this news is disappointing, never say never, even if you have to wait a long time.
