Statcounter’s January 2023 report with details on mainstream browsers and their market shares is here. As usual, the market is slow, and there are no significant changes.

Google Chrome was the most popular desktop browser in January 2023. It gained 0.25 points to reach 66.39% market share. Microsoft Edge also increased its customer base and retreated 11%-11.09% (+0.11 points).
Meanwhile, Apple’s Safari keeps the distance with 9.33% market share (+0.32 points), and Mozilla Firefox is fourth with 6.87%. The latter is the only mainstream browser to show a notable decline — it lost 0.34 points compared to the previous month. Finally, Opera closes the list of top 5 desktop browsers in January 2023 with a 3.42% share and an increase of +0.12 points.

On the mobile desktop browsers market, things are a bit more dynamic. Also, it misses out on Microsoft Edge because the company can’t figure out how to get users to use its browser on Android and iOS. Edge’s mobile market share is too small to show in the report.
