Hello, I am Adam, I am known as Warwagon on the forum. For the past 19 years, I have been running for a computer repair business. In doing so, I deal with the average computer user on a daily basis.
Whatever information I provide for these people, I keep in mind the least common denominator. It is a common misconception that everyone who is included in a tech site or brows it is technical. Some people are just looking for guidance. That is why for some people these technical suggestions may seem a bit easier but they are educational for others.
Notifications on most sites require you to allow or deny access to notifications. In some cases notifications may be easy, you can be informed about new emails or upcoming calendar events, or new postings on Facebook.
For the second time you can mistakenly give access to a site whose sole purpose is to bomb you on Adware/Scheme notifications.
Here is a way to audit your notification list and remove or block sites that you have already allowed.
First, open your browser of choice, I’m going to focus on Edge, Chrome and Firefox.
the edge
1) Click 3 dots in the top right corner.
2) Click on Settings at the bottom.
3) Type “notifications” in the search box on the left
4) Scroll down the site settings and click “notifications”.
Here you will see a list of sites that you have either denied or allowed access to. Each site has 3 dots next to it.
Just click on the 3 dots and either “Remove” or “Block”. “Remove” closes notifications for a particular site. “Block” prevents the site from asking again.
