The Crew series is Ubisoft’s answer to the racing genre and one of its key IPs. In recent years it seems to have fallen into decline as The Crew 2 was released in 2019. The problem is that while the first game was a decent game, the second had many flaws, the most problematic of which is its monotony.

Fans have been waiting for the next match in the series, and now the wait may finally be over. Ubisoft has now officially teased The Crew 3 Motorfest, and the setting will be airborne.

Through data mining, @ScriptLeaksR6 had revealed that the next match of the series will be called. “Motor Fest” And it seems they were right. Internally, the game was titled Project Orlando, and swirling rumors stated that the game was originally a planned DLC for The Crew 2.

While this was in development as DLC for The Crew 2, it seems that development has gone beyond the scale of a simple DLC so instead it will be an entirely separate game and the next entry in the series. was changed to Ubisoft Ivory Tower is still the developer of the game as it has been for the previous two entries in the series.

Back in late 2021, Redditor u/RacingGameGuru0300 Crew 2 was able to data mine the update of Or. The Crew 3 screenshots revealed. User said:

While data mining the updates, I found in game screenshots from The Orlando Project, while it was still a planned DLC for The Crew 2. These have also been in the files for some time.

This first revealed that the game was actually a DLC for Crew 2. It appears to be set in Hawaii and will include an “All Star” game mode, which I believe is their own battle royale mode.

It’s been a long time since the leak, but it looks like the suspicions were correct. The developer has stated that The Crew Motorfest is based on what the studio describes as a “one-of-a-kind festival” of all things fast and is set on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii.

This makes it the first The Crew game to depart from its usual continental USA setting, as both previous games featured scaled-down versions of USA cities.

Ivory Tower revealed more details about the ‘Insider Program’ in another video.

The developers say that The Crew 3 Motorfest will have an insider program where players will be able to test the game, give feedback to the developers, and make the launch product the best it can be. Those interested can. Register for the Insider Program; However, not all will be selected.

Recruitment for the internal program will be in several phases, and the first phase will be selection. 2000 of the most active players in the Crew2 community. Later stages will be open to a larger and more diverse general community, including console players, later on.

We don’t have a release date for The Crew Motorfest yet, only that it will be released this year in 2023. It is currently coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and more. Amazon’s Luna service.

In a stroke of poetic irony, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown is also slated for release in 2023. Stephen Bailey, creative director of The Crew Motorfest was the director of the original Test Drive Unlimited, which was also an MMO-inspired racing game set on the island of O’ahu.

We certainly hope that the next title will fix the many faults of The Crew 2 and develop its great parts to create a truly amazing experience.

Ubisoft itself desperately needs goodwill from the gaming community. It has fallen from grace in recent years and continues to deliver titles that have been plagued by several issues, much to the chagrin of the gaming community.
