Windows 11 Build 25276 brings a new Task Manager feature, some dialog box redesigns, and more.

Microsoft today released a new Windows 11 Insider Build 25276 on the Dev channel. This is the second Dev Channel Insider build to be released in 2023. The new release brings changes to the Task Manager, new OneDrive upgrade alerts, some Windows 11 dialog box redesigns, and, as always, a long list of important bug fixes.

what’s new
Create a live kernel memory dump in Task Manager
We’re introducing a set of new developer-focused features in Task Manager to help collect live kernel memory dumps (LKDs). This is in addition to the existing “memory dump” for user mode processes. The purpose of a kernel live dump is to collect data to resolve an abnormal situation but allow the OS to continue operations. It reduces downtime compared to bug checks for “non-fatal” but high-impact failures and hangs. Click Here For more information about live kernel dumps.
To capture a live kernel memory dump (LKD), go to the Details page in Task Manager, right-click System Actions and context menus must be lit to display. “Create Live Kernel Memory Dump File” To capture a full live kernel or kernel stack memory dump.
Select the new “Create live kernel memory dump file” option when right-clicking on a process on the details page in Task Manager.
You can also visit the Task Manager Settings page to view/edit the settings for the live kernel memory dump.

Updates to your cloud storage in Windows 11 settings
In November, we introduced a visual overview of your cloud storage usage in the Settings app. like us Mentioned here, you’ll see updates to Microsoft 365 apps and service data included in your cloud storage. Outlook attachment data will be added to your cloud storage as shown on the visual with today’s build. This change will start gradually with a small number inside, so not everyone will see it right away. You may see a warning about your storage usage; However, this does not affect your storage amount till 1 February 2023. Learn more about cloud storage Here
An integrated storage quota bar displayed on the Accounts page in the Settings app with a banner that will alert you if you’re running low on storage.

Changes and improvements
[General]
We’ve updated the dialog that appears when an app detects a sync problem to use the new Windows 11 design.
The dialog that shows when an app has a sync problem now uses the new Windows 11 design.
[Windows Security]
We’re temporarily disabling updated Windows Security (Firewall) notification dialogs that match the Windows 11 visuals we introduced. Build 25267.. We plan to reintroduce this change in a future flight after fixing some bugs.
Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25267 and later Pro editions no longer allow a user to connect to a remote share using guest credentials by default, even if the remote server requests guest credentials. It matches the strong security of the Enterprise and Education editions that have been in place since Windows 10, to further improve the default security of Windows 11. [Taskbar & System Tray]
Fixed an issue where switching windows via taskbar preview was not working.
Fixed multiple explorer.exe crashes affecting the system tray.
When opening a flyout from the taskbar, pressing the Esc key to close the flyout should now return keyboard focus to the button that invoked it.
[Search on the Taskbar]
These fixes only apply to Windows Insiders who got one of the different treatments for how Search looks on the taskbar that started with Insiders. Build 25252:
We fixed layout issues with text in the search box on the taskbar when using right-to-left display languages like Arabic.
Fixed an issue where the search style selected in the taskbar settings was not persisted across updates. This setting should now persist on subsequent Insider Preview build upgrades.
[File Explorer]
Fixed an explorer.exe crash that could occur when opening File Explorer, related to loading your most recent files.
[Voice access]
Voice access to enter numbers in the Calculator app will now work correctly.
Fixed a crash when giving left and right movement commands with voice access.
[Input]
The “Insert Text” button was not working when using Pinion IME in Dual Pinion mode.
[Widgets]
Fixed an issue where widgets would get stuck open in the board chain in an invisible state to insiders (and possibly others), causing clicks on the left side of the screen to not work. If you’re constantly experiencing this, please be sure to check the Microsoft Store for the latest app updates.
[Other]
To improve clarity, when Windows Defender Credential Guard enabled, when trying to use Remote Desktop with default credentials, it will now clearly say “Windows Defender Credential Guard does not allow the use of Windows login credentials. Please enter your credentials.” “
Note: Some of the fixes noted here in the Insider Preview build from the dev channel may make their way into servicing updates for released versions of Windows 11.
Known issues
[General]
Using Windows Hello to sign in with Face ID may not work on Arm64 PCs. A workaround for this is to use Hello PinPath.
[NEW] Some users are experiencing longer than expected update times installing recent builds. We are actively investigating this issue.
[NEW] We are investigating reports that some Insiders are experiencing freezes when using the browser and some other apps after the last Dev Channel flight.
[Taskbar & System Tray]
When using the tablet-optimized taskbar, the taskbar is sometimes cut in half. You may also see this issue on a secondary monitor.
[Search on the Taskbar]
The following known issues only apply to Windows Insiders who received one of the different treatments for how search looks on the taskbar that started with Insiders. Build 25252:
There is an issue where you will be unable to change the taskbar search box to only show as an icon through the taskbar settings in some cases. To work around this issue, first change to a different option and then, you should be able to choose to show as icon only.
[Task Manager]
Some dialogs may not be displayed in the correct theme when applied from the Task Manager settings page.
The Data Content area of the Processes page may flash once when theme changes are applied in the Task Manager Settings page.
[Widgets]
In right-to-left display languages such as Arabic, clicking the expanded view of the widget board causes the content to go out of view before resizing the widget board.
