The remake of Dead Space is set to release in a few hours. The review embargo has just ended, and as we can see, the PlayStation 5 port of the game stands at a score of 90. Metacritic.
Because the review ban has just ended, the score changes slightly over time. However, it is still enough to judge that this remake is more or less superior to the original.
So far, both the PC and Xbox Series X ports of the game sit at a score of 88 on Metacritic. It’s important to note that so far, Dead Space Remake on Metacritic has far fewer reviews on both the Xbox Series X and PC pages than the PlayStation 5 page, sitting at around 90 with 38 critic reviews.
Judging by the reviews, Electronic Arts’ Dead Space remake is a much more enjoyable version of the original. The remake takes all the good things about the original and merges them with modern graphics and QoL features, resulting in an absolute masterpiece of the survival horror genre.
If you want to play this game for the immersion it offers, you won’t be disappointed, as the remake takes the immersion to a whole other level than the original.
The game does incredible justice to the original by not deviating from it at any point. Things that are good in the original are even better in the remake. If you are a new player to the Dead Space universe with this game, you will know that it is one of the best survival horror games.
