Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Kawabunga Collection has reportedly sold over 1 million copies since its release in August 2022. This entry is a collection of 13 games in the franchise that were developed by Konami between 1989 and 1994. The game’s publisher — Konami — posted the title’s sales record on its official Twitter page.

Additionally, Konami has shared a few more stats related to player gameplay. A total of 350 million foot soldiers were dismounted. The turtles enjoyed the feast by eating 6 million pizzas. Shredder laments his ruined plans 2 million times. Ninja saved the day a million times. These high numbers reflect record sales for the title.

The entry was well received by critics and consumers alike. The game has one. Meta score Rated 79 with a user score of 8.0. Additionally, it has an 84% positive rating on Steam as reviewed by 367 players. Replays are an assortment of nostalgia and fans are grateful for it.

Previously, Konami sold the development rights of a few IPs to various indie developers to protect classic titles. Digital Eclipse has retained the rights to develop Teenage Mutant Turtles: The Kawabanga Collection and thanked fans for the overwhelming response in the following words:

In other news, it looks like Konami is interested in reviving its older titles, considering how it gave 30 million yen in funding to indie developers for the purpose. It’s likely that we could see more classic entries re-released on Steam and other platforms in the near future.
