In a post on the Japan website FamitsuOn that date, the price of the Xbox Series X console will increase from ¥54,978 ($423) to ¥59,978 ($462), or about $39, Microsoft said. The Xbox Series S will see its price go from ¥32,278 ($248) to ¥37,978 ($292), or about $44.

In a statement, Microsoft said that raising prices on Xbox consoles in Japan was “a difficult decision” but added that it will still provide its customers with the best Xbox gaming experience.

In 2022, Microsoft announced that the price of all its first-party Xbox games would increase from $60 to $70 in 2023. other parts of the world. In October 2022, in a conversation with the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, said that “at some point we’re going to have to raise prices on some things” but did not elaborate.
