Microsoft Teams is one of the most widely used online collaboration and communication tools available today. This is particularly useful for companies that are already customers of services such as Microsoft’s TechStack and Microsoft 365. Now, some improvements are being planned for profile cards.
For those unfamiliar, a profile card is the UI you get when you hover over or click a profile picture in Microsoft 365 apps like Outlook and Teams. It shows you some basic information like email id, contact number, designation, and more. Microsoft wants to further enhance this UX on Teams by showing insights.
In a recent but brief entry On its Microsoft 365 roadmap, the company has assigned Feature ID 116006 to improvements to Teams profile cards. Soon, team profile cards will be able to show insights like birthdays, career changes, and pending meeting invitations.
Birthday and career change information will be retrieved from your linked LinkedIn profile. Meanwhile, if you schedule a meeting with someone and then hover over their profile card, you’ll also see the meeting invitation details listed there.
