Last week, Microsoft announced a few new features coming soon to Outlook for Android. The Outlook iOS client is also gaining attention from its creators. The company’s email app on iOS is coming soon with a new feature that will help users browse through its various important sections.

Microsoft is working on a new navigation bar for users to easily access mail, calendar, feed, contacts and files. The advantage of a more customizable bottom navigation bar is that you can arrange Mail, Calendar, Feeds, Contacts and Files in the order that works best for you. Microsoft introduced similar changes to the Outlook Android app a month or so ago, and the company promised to bring a new navigation bar to iOS users as well.

A navigation bar is certainly not new to Outlook Mobile users. It’s been around for a long time, and over time, it’s gotten a lot better, with Microsoft adding more options and customizations to it. Hopefully it will continue to improve for all users on different platforms.

New navigation bar for Outlook for iOS

As for when the new navigation bar will be available for Outlook iOS users, Microsoft says This will keep iOS users waiting until March this year. But the wait may be worth it because an updated “floating action button” is also set to debut alongside a new, customizable navigation bar. However, this doesn’t guarantee anything, as Microsoft has gone back on its promise several times in the past. And it could happen again.
