The Last of Us has recently taken over the entertainment industry thanks to the new HBO series. Although the show is a faithful adaptation of the game, it has added many new things to the lore. There is going to be a story about one such thing. Ellie’s motherwhich was originally going to be a DLC.

Neil Druckman revealed that he had written a story about Ellie’s mother, Anna, and wanted to make it into one. DLC. But, the plan fell apart, and as a result, we’ll be seeing him on the HBO show.

Talking to VarietyThe co-creator of the series gave us some interesting information about the upcoming episode. He answered a question asking what he was excited to do on the show that he didn’t get to do in the game. The director of The Last of You said that it is the story of Ellie’s mother.

In our conversation, I brought it up to Craig and he was immediately excited by it, or as he would say ‘turned on.’ We brought it to life in a very beautiful, poetic way, with Ashley Johnson playing Ellie’s mom and she was the original actor for Ellie.

So, even though we’re not seeing this story as a Last of Us animated short or DLC, we will be seeing it in the show. Ashley Johnson playing Ellie’s mom makes it even better, since she’s the model Ellie is based on. Hopefully we will see this scene soon.
