Hogwarts Legacy is an ambitious project that tackles the Harry Potter universe for the first time in AAA format. Like many other projects, the title was delayed until this year, but more gameplay details were finally confirmed via WB Games support over on Twitter.
Recently, the team has answered an important question to satisfy the fans. Like other games, Hogwarts Legacy will reportedly allow players to choose from multiple performance modes to play the game effectively.
- As revealed in a Portkey Games Support FAQ, Hogwarts Legacy will apparently feature multiple graphics modes for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Two of the most used graphics modes, Performance and Fidelity modes are also included. Moreover, VRR is also supported for both consoles if the TVs support the technology.
- Fidelity mode will aim for 30fps to make the game run smoothly on both consoles, while Performance mode chooses to target 60fps.
- The PC specifications were also revealed, which will obviously require powerful hardware to run the game smoothly.

That’s not all; The support page describes the VRR technology. Variable refresh rate technology is apparently supported if the TV or monitor comes with VRR support.
In other words, both PS5s and Xbox Series X|S consoles will be able to take advantage of the fascinating technology if TVs can take advantage of the tech.
The developers have also specified minimum and recommended/higher PCs. Recommended/higher settings require a reasonably usable GeForce 1080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, which is quite reasonable considering the game’s AAA scale.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to release on February 10, 2023, assuming there aren’t any other sudden delays. The game will come out on both next- and last-gen consoles, including Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and the next-gen Xbox Series family, and also on PCs.
However, it is still unclear whether the last-generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will have 60 FPS. Support seems to have taken that question out of the equation, but only time will tell.
