This comes as a huge disappointment for anyone who owns a physical copy of Rare’s iconic collection, as it’s consistently regarded as one of the best all-in-one packages of a beloved studio’s legacy, and Also one of the best releases on it. Xbox one.
After an extremely long period of secrecy that eventually led to it becoming one of the best-kept secrets in the industry, the remaster was finally announced at last September’s Nintendo Direct.
GoldenEye 007 Remaster Released today, the remaster offers many improvements over the original title with better split-screen multiplayer, improved frame rates, achievements, 4K resolution, and smoother framerates.
Along with the remaster on Xbox, the original version of GoldenEye 007 was released simultaneously through the Nintendo Switch online service.
GoldenEye 007 is one of the most important games of all time, with a legacy spanning decades. The game is one of the pioneers of the FPS genre alongside icons like Half Life and Halo Combat Evolved.
A remaster is possibly the best way to re-experience a game that until now could only be played through Nintendo 64 or PC emulation. However, it is unfortunate how its distribution has been handled.
