The latest weekly Edge Dev update is here with a long list of new features and fixes. Edge Dev 111.0.1619.2 adds password import from CSV files, better protections against third-party apps hijacking your browser settings, a better ad blocking experience on iOS, and more.

On a side note, Microsoft also released a small patch for Edge 109 in the Stable Channel, fixing a broken print UI on systems with special characters in printer names. Affected users should update to Edge 109.0.1518.61 to resolve this issue.

  • Microsoft Edge will now notify you if an external program illegally changes your start page and search engine settings and restore your previous settings.

  • Added an option to hide duplicates in history.

iOS:

  • The new ad blocker feature now prevents long-pressing ads.

  • Fixed browser crashes related to user scripts on Ubuntu.

macOS:

  • Fixed browser crash related to PWA install/site as app install button.

iOS:

  • Fixed a browser crash related to the update banner when using Accessibility Tools.

Android:

  • Fixed a browser crash when signing out of an MSA/AAD account.

Enterprise:

  • Fixed a browser crash when selecting a file in the Windows file picker.

Other changes:

  • Sidebar will now force dark mode on apps.
  • Fixed rendering artifact when scrolling on PDF.
  • Fixed taskbar pinning wizard window stuck on loading.
  • Prevented Internet Explorer compatibility settings from disappearing when refreshing the page.
  • History Hub web pages will now open in a new tab if the current tab is not a new tab page.
  • Fixed group tabs from closing “edge://” tabs.
  • Fixed empty share dialog.
  • Fixed missing Zoom and Full Screen buttons in Settings and More menu.
  • Fixed SSL certificate causing disruption to services like Extensions, Sync, Collections and others.
  • Fixed unable to install browser update.

  • Fixed visual search button appearing outside the image.
  • Fixed settings page not appearing on screen after clicking Manage Performance Settings in Performance Hub from the In Private window.

  • Fixed Restore prompt being shown even if there was no crash in the previous session.

Android:

  • Fixed sign-in dialog issue when logging in or switching to MSA.
  • Fixed Red Loud not working with system sound.
  • Fixed Password Monitor’s scan no longer working with very few saved passwords.
  • Fixed news feed stuck on displaying in English.

WebView2:

  • Experimental Tracking Prevention API moved to stable.
  • Fixed object not found issue on new empty window.
  • Fixed tapping on text field not triggering on-screen keyboard (#10508)
  • Fixed built-in DNS resolver affected performance. (#3077)
  • Fixed drag and drop on WinRT.
  • The built-in DSN resolver is disabled when a UWP app does not have intranet capability to resolve a navigation performance issue. (#3077)
  • Fixed disabled default script dialog being displayed after calling WebView2.Close(). (#2677)
  • Fixed timeout issue when writing to CoreWebView2SharedBuffer. (#3108)

  • Fixed IE mode windows size issues on high dpi monitors.
  • Fixed Cannot open HTML attachment file when tapping OpenEdge button from Outlook app on iOS.
  • Fixed an authentication issue in certain scenarios with MDM configurations on iOS.
  • Fixed optional diagnostic data setting can be turned on after logging out of AAD even with the disableShareUsageData and disableShareBrowsingHistory policies set on iOS.
  • When users select their pre-created accounts on iOS, your app screen is stuck on the security or loading circle message.
