Bluepoint Games to reveal a new project “when the time is right”

[ad_1]

  • Peter Dalton from Bluepoint Games recently spoke about the upcoming project.
  • After several remakes, this game will become the original.
  • It was first hinted at by a holiday card on the PlayStation Blog.

Peter Dalton, head of technology at Bluepoint Games, has something very interesting to say as a follow-up to the recent layoffs at Microsoft.

While he was truly saddened to hear about the layoffs, he spoke disparagingly about how the Blue Point Games staff is working hard on their upcoming title.

In his tweet, he said that the studio is actually working on a new project that will require the skills of multiple rendering programmers. In the tweet, he also linked to the company’s official website, where various open positions at Blue Point Games can be browsed.

Their website States “We are always looking for passionate talent to grow our game development studio.”

As of now, the company is looking for several engineers and audio technicians, among many others. The list includes:

  • Senior Graphics Engineer
  • Senior General Engineer
  • Senior Game Engineer
  • Senior Tools Engineer
  • Senior Technical Artist
  • Technical artist
  • Lead VFX Artist
  • Audio Director
  • Lead Combat Designer
  • Senior combat designer
  • Lead System Designer
  • Senior System Designer
  • Senior Level Designer
  • Senior 3D Character Artist

All these opportunities could be directly or indirectly from this mysterious new project that Blue Point Games is working on.

After Bluepoint Games returns to PlayStation in 2021, it has yet to announce another project. In fact, since the Demon’s Souls remake, we’ve been hearing radio silence from the team.

This seemed strange to many as, after the success of the game, it was expected that Blue Point Games would be leading another title.

However, this radio silence was recently broken by a Holiday card. On PlayStation’s official blog, the company listed all of its developer cards. Of course this will also include Blue Point games.

In the card, we could see 3 unwrapped presents and one that was still wrapped. The three openings were approvals for the three games the company has worked on. Included games include the Demon’s Souls remake, Shadow of the Colossus remake, and God of War Ragnarok.

Although Bluepoint Games did not play a major role in God of War Ragnarok, they did do some support work for the game.

Fans were buzzing with excitement immediately after the greeting card dropped. There was a lot of speculation about what the fourth game might be. What we do know is that there won’t be a remake of the game.

In one Interview with IGN Back in September 2021, it was revealed that the company would be working on a new game. Trish said, “Our next project, we’re working on original content right now. We can’t talk about what it is, but it’s the next step in evolution for us.

However, the company had not officially talked about any release yet. Even when asked about it directly on Twitter, Peter Dalton remained cryptic.

he said “When the time is right. All good things take time.” We couldn’t agree more.
